Regulatory Knowledge & Support
Regulatory Knowledge and Support Program provides consultation for regulatory and ethical issues
Beyond the science in human subject research studies, there are important regulatory and ethical issues that must be addressed.
These areas of consideration range from the overall value and validity of the proposed work to how it will be implemented and conducted. It’s essential to understand how to properly identify and recruit individuals from targeted populations, navigate the informed consent process, and apply the appropriately monitor a study that is commensurate with the level of its inherent risks and complexity.
Resources provided by the CCTS Regulatory Knowledge and Support Core are complementary to existing structures within the University. The result is a robust environment for human subject research that not only meets the satisfaction of the application rules and regulations, but often exceeds them, further promoting the ethical conduct of human subject research at The Ohio State University and other collaborating institutions across the CTSA Consortium.
